Grief Management
Grieving is never easy
Grieving is never the same for two people
Grieving is never the same for two deaths.
Grieving is a lot of things, but it is never what we expect it to be when it happens to us.
Grieving is something no one has to do alone.
Support for Those Living with Loss
Hospice care provides support and care for people in the last phase of an incurable disease. Hospice services, however, do not end with the death of a patient. Following a death, specially trained Hospice bereavement staff helps the surviving family members deal with their grief for up to 13 months after the patient’s death.
Grief is a powerful emotion that affects each of us at some point in our life. It can manifest itself as intense sadness, raw, terrible pain, appetite loss, sleep disturbance or an inability to concentrate. Hospice has long recognized the need to provide grief counseling and educational services about grief to Hospice families and the community.
Every family member (regardless of their age), copes in their own individual way with the death or illness of a loved one. Based on the developmental understanding, the relationship with the loved one, and the circumstances of the death or serious illness, each family member experiences grief differently. Understanding the differences can help support all grieving family members.
Grief Education
The Bereavement Program at Ruidoso Home Care & Hospice is designed to help all people of our community work their way through grief following the death of a loved one. Times of sadness and grief are a fact of life.
When you are finding your way through the changes that a death has brought to your life, you don’t have to do it alone. From sorting out your feeling to understanding the grieving process and figuring out how to live each day, our hospice and bereavement programs can help with practical information and compassionate support.
The Hospice program of Ruidoso Home Care & Hospice is dedicated to helping you live through these transitions with peace and hope for the future.
Grief support and counseling is available to everyone in our community – you do not have to receive other hospice services to take part in our programs to receive support and referrals.
