Home Telehealth Monitoring - The Wave of the Future

How Does Viterion Work?

The use of TeleHealth services provides for more diligent monitoring in changes of health status, key in alerting medical staff to possible worsening of existing health problems. By catching symptoms early, the patient is more likely to be treated sooner and stay healthier. Coupled with the use of disease management and patient self-management, TeleHealth monitoring can reduce visits the emergency room, lessen chance of hospitalization and improve quality of life for patients with chronic care issues like COPD, heart disease and diabetes.

Viterion is a Home Teleheath service offered by Ruidoso Home Care & Hospice that allows patients to have their health condition monitored by nurses from the convenience of their homes.

Your physician can order basic criteria to be measured and monitored by using equipment that is set up in your home. This information is then sent in to Ruidoso Home Care & Hospice and reviewed by nursing staff daily. Health monitoring can include basic vital signs, pulse oximetry (oxygen levels), weight, blood sugars and pain levels. A phone call is made to the patient for further information, and if needed, the physician is contacted. If the doctor decides to change medications, or has new treatments and orders for the patient, it is communicated back to the patient by the nursing staff.
